The department analyses soil and other natural samples and carries out comprehensive soil assessment.
Areas of work
- developing and improving methods of comprehensive soil assessment, grouping soils into agro-production groups, creating soil fertility models, building a soil cover data bank and compiling soil maps at various scales based on GIS technologies.
- soil monitoring, determining the diagnostic features of soils and developing soil classification.
- performing chemical, agrochemical, physical, physico-chemical and other analyses of the soils of the republic; developing and introducing new methods for analysing soil, water, plants and other natural objects.
