Genesis, geography and reclamation of saline soils

Study of the origin and distribution of saline soils, the degree of salinity and their reclamation condition.

Areas of work

  • Assessing the types, degree and chemical composition of salinity and the natural and human factors affecting its spread.
  • Comprehensive analysis of groundwater, the water–salt regime and the condition of collector and drainage systems.
  • Monitoring salinity with remote sensing and field data; preparing cartograms and digital maps.
  • Restoring the fertility of saline land, preventing secondary salinization and developing reclamation recommendations.
  • Studying water-saving, chemical, biological and agro-reclamation methods and recommending them for practice.
